Old Charm and hospitality
NoGreat ambiance and comfortable room.
Very cozy rustic ambiance. Great views overlooking the town and the mountains. Very happy to have the kitchenette and all cooking/dining supplies. Great library with pool table.
Would've been nice with some breakfast downstairs.I would absolutely recommend this hotel. We stayed a total of four nights and really enjoyed our stay. Liked very much that we could prepare sone of our own food. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
The kitchenette in the room was really useful for cooking breakfast and making sandwiches for our hikes. The bed was lovely and firm too.
Charming. Not just a room, but a suite with a full kitchen and living room with a view.
It was a little hard to find, even with a GPS. I like to bring my own breakfast, so the kitchen was perfect for me, but there is no restaurant or continental breakfast on the property, which some might find a problem. It's a charming, home away from home. Its location on a hill saved it from the ravages of the flooding that affected Estes Park and closed down Highways 34 and 36. This was my second stay at Crag's Lodge and I highly recommend it.
Rustic character, scenic views.
They do not refresh the room everyday. You have to request that the room be refreshed.
A historic hotel, you still get a KEY for your room here. It was cool. Pool and hot tub are in ground, heated and excellent.
Very mediocre sleeping arrangements. Mattress was not super comfortable and easy to sleep on, but was also not a rock. Very mediocre.Overall beautiful hotel, great location, very quaint, but close to downtown Estes.
The location and beautiful view from this historic lodge was great.
If you are put in one of the rooms under the dining room good luck. View may be great but that's where it ends. Have you ever lived in an old house with squeaky floors? Amplify that 100 times. Ugh.This is a beautiful historic hotel with great views of the mountains but rooms on lower level are too noisy for anyone to stay in as they're Under the dining room. When we talked to the front desk staff they said sorry and that we should talk to Priceline.
The views, the people, the open spaces and the restaurant! All fantastic!
I wish it had a continental breakfast as many of the outdoor activities start early (e.g., fly fishing, hiking, wildlife viewing, etc.) and it's almost impossible to find a breakfast place open early when unfamiliar with the town.Fantastic find on priceline.com. I would definitely rate this lodge higher - a 3 star, maybe 3 1/2. We LOVED the people at the front desk (they couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating), the view (priceless), and restaurant (very good food)! The only negative if you can call it that is that our bedroom in the annex was very small but having said that, it was fine for a couple with a tween. And believe me, you are not there much! There is so much to do in the Rocky Mountain National Park! We were there for 2 days only and came across the Trail Ridge Road (nothing like it - you're gonna think you've died and went to heaven!), hiked, fly ...
Location from town... Was told walking distance... I don't consider a mile walking distance... But that's me
